I think that I got weary, though, from the query, rejection, try again, go to conferences, schmooze, etc...mill. Self-publishing doesn't feel like the red-headed step-child that it used to be, particularly when one uses a fantastic editor (mine is Jordan Rosenfeld) and utilizes social media. That being said, self-pub is a ton of work and not for the faint of heart. I would love for an agent-fairy godmother to swoop in and help me :) However, my skin is thicker, I am a better writer, I can take more criticism, and I believe I produce better work because of those early rejections. It is all part of the process, Juliette. The ultimate is this: do we love what we do? If the answer is "yes", then how we publish our passion doesn't really matter. What matters is when someone takes the time to say, "Your words touched my life." I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again: your words have touched mine! Looking forward to your next book.
